You know who you are until the world tells you who you should be.

Until the world tells you that you should be thinner, meatier, blonder, darker, lighter,  taller, shorter, funnier, smarter, richer, poorer, fitter, lazier.  Until the world tells you to work more, party more, party less, eat less, eat more, work out, watch tv, read books, watch the news, ignore the news, walk, drive, ride your bike, get a skateboard…Until the world tells you that success equals a nice job, house, loving partner, 2.5 kids, a lawn, and of course the white picket fence.  Cause you know the white picket fence will solve all your problems.

Until the world tells you that you are not ok being who you are.

Yet, the most beautiful thing of all is that the world is wrong.

The world is confused, obviously.  You are perfect as you are.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

-Teilhard de Chardin

Life changes dramatically once you begin to realize your true nature, and this life is a beautiful gift that will help you get there.   In this human experience we can experience love, learn compassion, achieve enlightenment, feel unity, witness the divine, and ultimately we can find God.  For everything that happens in this life is perfect.  Yes, some of it might not feel so perfect, but everything that happens is bringing you back to your true nature, is bringing you closer to God.

Live YOUR life

by amy lee

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drowned your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs

Don’t be afraid to live the life you have always imagined.  Live without regret.  What is holding you back from going after your dreams?  Is it the socially imposed limitations of the ‘real world?’ or is it your fear of failure?

When you are sitting on your deathbed, all of those fears will be put into perspective.  There will be no fear, only regret for not living your life to the fullest.  You will see clearly how you let the world tell you how to live.  You will see that your true self was always there, you just stopped listening to it.

Don’t ignore your inner voice, its your key to the life you have always imagined.

True living is about being ‘unrealistic’ and following your heart.  Yet, perhaps one of the biggest obstacles we face in living our dream life, is the socially constructed ideal of the ‘real world.’

Whenever I tell someone that I am going to, let’s say, live in Buenos Aires for three months, I hear them say, “Well, thats nice, but some of us have to work.”  I have to work too.  That is not a good excuse.  If you want something you can make it happen.  What are your real fears to not following your dreams?

The ‘real world’ aka the work 8-5, buy a house, get married, have kids, get a dog world is not what you are suppose to do.  If that is what your heart desires, then that is beautiful and an amazing life.  Yet if it isn’t, do not let the ‘real world’ be an excuse for not following your dreams.

Is your dream to sail around the world? There are plenty of people that do it, and even with families.  Is your dream to start your own company?  You can make tiny steps while you are still working your 8-5.  Is your dream to write a book?  Get a pen and start writing.

Do not let your fears tell you that the ‘real world’ is what life is.

Your life can be whatever you want it to be.

Mistakes are only your perception.  Sure, you may think you have failed or really screwed up big this time.  Yet, perhaps this experience is making you stronger for something better to come your way, or perhaps if you didn’t fail now it could have been an even bigger disaster down the road.

Do not look back.   Live today.  We are the ones that keep our ‘mistakes’ part of our reality, no one else does. Not even God, you are the only one punishing yourself.  You have a choice, you do not have to live in the past.

Everything that happens is for your greater good.  Trust your journey.  It has been said that we see our lives as the underside of a rug with all the knots and mess, yet if we could see our lives from above we would see this beautiful unique creation.

Your life is beautiful, ignore all the knots, they are just a tool to creating the most amazing life.
