The items we bring into our home often times can have a larger influence on the indoor air quality in our home than the building itself or even the location of the building. How often do we blame poor air quality on the polluted outdoor air, when we are bringing in chemicals into our homes that have been linked to many serious health problems such as cancer? The problems is that we have no idea that we are surrounding ourselves by these chemicals. We assume that the government protects us and that chemicals have been tested for safety but this could not be further from the truth.
So how do we find out about these chemicals and how do we protect ourselves from these toxins? There are many great resources out there and one of them is this blog.

When your eyes open up to the hidden dangers that surround us daily and that have a direct affect on our health it can be quiet overwhelming. The range of Just Pure is 100% natural and 100% preservative free. There has been no compromise to the formulation of these products. They are not only safe for the environment, but they are safe for our bodies as well. I was amazed when I walked into the store and started reading the labels. It was like I walked into organic beauty product heaven. I think you could actually eat the products they are that pure!
The ingredients include elements such as fairly traded unrefined african shea butter, organic essential oils from wild harvest herbs and flowers, grape seed oil, olive oil, jojoba wax…Not one ingredient that I would have to question or need a dictionary for. Being that our skin absorbs 60% of what we put on it, we better be mindful of what we use!
I used their Essential Face Polishing Masque last night and I cannot believe how amazing my skin feels. I have not been using any face care regime for the past year, because I could not find a product that I truly believed was pure. It is amazing that we think that we need certain ingredients or products to have healthy, ageless skin. Marketing sure does a great job on us! Yet, getting back to nature and using plants in their pure form truly creates the healthiest skin. Just Pure has set a new standard for natural skin care.
Multiple Chemical Sensitivity or MCS is a disease largely brought on by living in an increasingly toxic world. All of our bodies have an amazing capacity to handle toxins and detoxify those things that offend us. Take it from me. After having studied extensively the toxins in our modern environment, I am constantly amazed by our bodies! Yet, our bodies do reach a point where it is too much. A great analogy that is often used in describing the onset of MCS is that of the rain barrel. Our bodies act as a rain barrel for toxins and can only handle so much. When our detoxification mechanisms get overloaded there is a backup and toxins spill into the rest of our bodies making us ill.
MCS involves multiple symptoms such as breathing difficulties, insomnia, depression, muscle soreness, chronic fatigue, memory loss, concentration difficulties, confusion, mood swings, coughing, sneezing, itching, rashes, headaches, digestive problems, and sensitivity to odors, noise, bright light, extreme temperature, and electromagnetic fields. As you can see there are multiple organ systems involved so it has been very hard for doctors to make a diagnosis.

All of us that have environmental illnesses are sensitive to different things. What may cause confusion and disorientation for one person can cause breathing problems for another or even no symptoms at all. We learn to be very aware of seemingly small environmental triggers because if we do not we may find that what was seemingly safe in a small amount is something that puts us over the edge in its normal application. So how do we figure out if something is safe for us to use? Something that has proved very helpful for those with environmental illnesses is the jar test…
